4-H Shotgun Shooting Sport shooters qualify for state shoot

The Edmunds County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sport program had a busy summer shooting to qualify for the state shoot. Shooters spent Wednesday nights at the Ipswich Shooting Range practicing their shotgun skills.

The state shoot was held in Mitchell on September 8-10. Five shooters from Edmunds County qualified for the state shoot. They were Junior Weston Weisser, and Seniors Gabe Johnson, Adam Kanable, Kadyn Weisser, and Emerald Wittmeier.

Juniors and Seniors shot 100 rounds of trap. Junior Weston Weisser shot a 34 for a white ribbon. Seniors Gabe Johnson shot a 69 for a red ribbon, Adam Kanable shot a 72 for a red ribbon, Kadyn Weisser shot a 85 for a blue ribbon, and Emerald Wittmeier shot a 61 for a red ribbon.

Several also participated in sporting clays. Seniors shot a round of 50. Seniors Gabe Johnson shot a 29 for a red ribbon, Adam Kanable shot a 18 for a white ribbon, and Kadyn Weisser shot a 32 for a blue ribbon.

Gabe Johnson and Kadyn Weisser also shot a round of 50 targets in skeet. Gabe shot a score of 39 for a blue ribbon, and Kadyn shot a 22 for a white ribbon.
