Ipswich was in contention for a varsity high school football win last Friday in Britton. But the hosts would eventually win the affair 48-30.
The quarter scores were 20-8, 26-16 and 42-22, all favoring the hosts. But Ipswich actually did get on the scoreboard first with a Max Kulesa pass to Chet Peterson of two yards and Kulesa also passed to Casey Geditz for the two-point conversion.
Ipswich's next TD would be a Kulesa kick return TD of 80 yards and Kulesa also passed for the extra points this time to Peterson.
Ipswich then opened the third quarter with a 35-yard touchdown pass from Kulesa to Geditz. But the conversion failed. Ipswich's final TD would also start the fourth quarter with a Kulesa pass to Trevor Heinz which was a 40-yard aerial hook-up. Kulesa then found Jaxon Holt for the conversion pass.
The Braves would end up with seven touchdowns and added three successful conversion plays.
Ipswich rushed for 33 yards including 32 by Geditz, but the Braves would run for 144 yards. They added 285 passing yards. Ipswich finished 21-34 in passing with three interceptions for 318 aerial yards from Kulesa. His favorite receiver that evening would be Trevor Heinz with seven catches for 131 yards. Peterson was able to get seven receptions as well for 111 yards. Geditz went 4-54 in receptions and Holt finished the evening with three catches for 22 yards.
Defensively Ipswich was led in tackles by Geditz with 11 tackles. Peterson and Trevor Heinz were each next with eight tackles and Justin Rohrbach added five.
Ipswich is now 3-4 in the won-loss column and will host the Dupree Tigers on Friday as part of the IHS homecoming festivities.
