Ipswich hosts conference cross country meet

Ipswich hosted and participated in the Lake Region Conference cross country meet last Wednesday at the athletic complex.

The Tiger varsity girls were second only to Frederick's 16 team points with their 19 team points. And the Tiger boys team was fourth in their varsity outcome with 36 points. Northwestern won that with 12 team points followed by Frederick with 23 and then Faulkton with its 30 team points that just edged the Tigers.

Individually Ella Boekelheide from Northwestern was first with her 18:16.37 run, followed by Frederick's Morgan Sumption in 19:54.87 and then Ipswich's Madisyn Gellhaus was third in 20:14.06. Gracyn Kadlec was next in seventh place at 20:48.12, followed by Bella Henderson in ninth at 21:49.63. Olivia Kadlec placed 19th in 23:39.58, followed by Aubrey Crissman in 21st in 24:00.45 and Bella Unser was 24th in 27:48.89.

Now for the individual boys! Northwestern's Lincoln Woodring also claimed the top overall varsity clocking in first at 17:09.96. And Frederick's Milo Sumption was second in 17:20.83. Ipswich would then also capture third place by Xavier Kadlec in 17:29.36.

The next Tiger boy would become Tyler Gellhaus in 21st at 20:25.39. Ethan Wald added a 24th-place 20:43.28 clocking and Tye Pietz was 29th in 22:39.37. Kadyn Weisser was 31st in 25:04.46.

The 1B regional meet is scheduled for Webster on October 11 starting at 2 p.m.

Ipswich: (First place team, 8 points) 1-Brayan Paguaga, 10:41.46; 7-Edison Unser, 12:28.91; 9-Benjamin Hoyle, 12:45.30; 12-Riley Pietz, 13:25.79; 13-Jaxon Jager, 13:40.90
