Special Olympians compete at bowling meet

The Ipswich Tigers Special Olympics Bowling Team participated in the Area Bowling Meet held in Aberdeen on October 20, 2023.

Their teacher Dawn Graham said the team had a really good day.

Each athlete bowled in a different bracket based on age and a three-game average score sent in with registrations. The places the bowlers received are as follows: Johnathan Kamps, second place; Isaiah Goetz, fourth place; Teagan Cody, first place; Cash Henderson, first place; Coy Stager, sixth place; Max Simon, fourth place; George Marshall, first place; Colden Marshall, second place; Kyle Belle Isle, first place; Dixie Grace Marshall, first place and Haley Wipf, third place.

"We would like to thank the Knights of Columbus for their continued support through generous donations. The team is grateful for this" said Graham. "We would also like to thank all of the high school kids, parents and community members who came to cheer on the athletes."

Graham said she encourages all to attend this event next year or any Special Olympics event. "It is always a good day." Their website is SOSD.org. Dates and volunteer information can be found there. The Ipswich Tigers will also attend the Area Track Meet on May 3, 2024 in Milbank.
