The Roscoe Community Club is planning some fun events to kick off Christmas celebrations in their "Small Town Proud" community.
To start things off, the residents are decking the streets and homes with beautiful Christmas decor! If you would like your Christmas Outdoor displays and lights noticed, you may call Nicole at the City Office, Monday - Friday from 8-12. A list of addresses will be compiled for anyone to drive past and see all the beautiful Christmas decorations that fill the Roscoe Community. This list will be available at local businesses for you to take and enjoy at your leisure anytime between December 8 and December 31.
The following weekend begins a fun kick off to Christmas week. Beginning Thursday, December 14 through Friday, December 15 Roscoe businesses will be holding their annual Christmas Open Houses for their customers and the community. Each business chooses how they would like to host the open house, while they each plan fun festive activities for these days.
On Saturday, Dec. 17 the Community Club is hosting a Community Christmas Caroling event. Following the Edmunds Central PAC hosting a Cookies with Santa event at the school, they will head into the community, caroling and bringing musical cheer to their neighbors. All carolers will be escorted to various locations with provided transportation. EVERYONE is invited to join them for caroling, meeting at the school at 4 p.m. to organize and head out caroling. Remember warm outdoor clothes and blankets.
Finally, on Sunday evening, December 17, the community club will be hosting a Lighted Christmas Parade. The participants will be driving through town with decorated vehicles, floats and possibly many other type entries. The route will cover a large portion of the town, so if it is hard for you to get out of your home, you may still watch from your window. The parade route will be published closer to the date of the parade. Check the newspaper, or local businesses for parade route details. To join the fun and light up your special vehicle or float, contact Cindy (605-237-9744) with any questions, or to register your entry into the parade.
