It is that time of the year, believe it or not. The Ipswich girls basketball team was indeed scheduled to host Sully Buttes on Tuesday, December 5 in a girls' only confrontation.
The IHS girls have been busy preparing for their 2023-24 campaign.
There are 14 girls on the roster thus far, led by senior Karlie Gohl.
Sommer DeRaad is a junior as are Rylee Kleffman, Reaghan Bowers and Kaylin Onken.
The sophmores are Brianna Geditz, Marley Guthmiller, Gabby Wald, Natalie Crissman, Ava Davis and LaVayah Russell. Freshmen hopefuls are Anna Nierman, Jalyssa Hutson and Tristan Geditz.
They are again coached by Brian Hogie assisted by Brittney Phillips. And you can see that this version of the Tigers will be quite youthful.
Their next outings will be a December 9 girls/boys twinbill trip to Hitchcock-Tulare and a girls/boys doubleheader on December 12 vs. the North Central Thunder in Ipswich.
The girls season will conclude on February 15 vs. Potter County in the Tiger Den. Their regional meanwhile is scheduled for February 19, 20 and 22. The SoDak 16 is on February 29 and State B action will be on March 7-9 in Rapid City.
