Local churches will celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve worldwide.

Area church holiday services include:

First Baptist of Ipswich

The Christmas Eve service with communion will begin at 10 a.m.

Holy Cross and St. Thomas Catholic Churches

Ipswich and Roscoe

The Regular Sunday, Dec. 24 Mass at Holy Cross in Ipswich begins at 11 a.m. There will be no 9 a.m. Mass in Roscoe on Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve Mass on Dec. 24 begins at 7 p.m. in St. Thomas Church in Roscoe. The Christmas Day Mass begins at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross in Ipswich.

Ipswich United Church of Christ

The regular Sunday service begins at 10 a.m. Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve service begins at 4:30 p.m.

Richland Church

The morning Sunday worship service begins at 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve Candlelight service begins at 6 p.m.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

Hosmer

The regular Sunday worship service begins at 11 a.m. on Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve with Candlelight Service with communion begins at 7 p.m.

St. Paul’s Ev.

Lutheran Church

Roscoe

The Christmas Eve “Gifts from the Manger” worship begins at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24. Christmas Day, Dec. 25, is the “Glory to the Newborn King!” service at 10:30 a.m. The church will have a “What a Time to Remember” worship service on New Year’s Eve at 10:30 a.m.

The Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 service begins at 11 a.m.
