The Ipswich School Theatre will be the site of the Region 7B One-Act Play competition on January 17.
Schools in Region 7B are Edmunds Central, Faulkton Area, Herreid, Lemmon, Selby Area, Timber Lake and Warner.
All plays can be no longer than 45 minutes and the judges’ critiques follow the end of each.
The plays are open to the public. The schedule is:
• Faulkton Area 9 a.m.
• Selby Area 10 a.m.
• Timber Lake 11 a.m.
• Break 12-1 p.m.
• Edmunds Central 1 p.m.
• Lemmon 2 p.m.
• Herreid 3 p.m.
• Warner 4 p.m.
• Awards 5:30 p.m.
The top two plays chosen by the judges will qualify for the State One-Act Play Festival in Brandon February 1-3, 2024. The plays will be performed in the Brandon Valley Performance Center.
Each play has a maximum time of 45 minutes to set up, perform and strike the show. Any production that exceeds 45 minutes will be disqualified. At the end of the 45 minutes, all set pieces must be off the stage, and the stage must be cleaned and ready for the next production.
