Loss for Tigers in Classic game against Gregory

Ipswich sustained a narrow 55-51 boys high school basketball decision to Gregory last Saturday during the Hanson Classic in Mitchell.

But Gregory would go ahead 13-8 after a quarter and led 26-18 at intermission. But the Tigers would definitely hang around during the second half, trailing 40-34 with a quarter to play. It was that close.

Gregory would be led by Daniel Mitchell's 21 points and six more players would enter their scoring column that day, led by Noah Bearshield's nine points.

They were 21-46 in floor shots that featured four treys and were 9-12 in free throws.

Ipswich, meanwhile, was led by Jace Konsor with his 27 points including seven treys. Trevor Heinz added 15 points including one trey. Kyle Hettich added five points also including a trey and Chet Peterson added four points.

Ipswich was 18-51 in their baskets including those huge treys and went 6-7 in free throw tries.

The Tigers obtained a double-double from Heinz with his 15 points and 13 rebounds. They had 28 rebounds. The Gregory team had 31 rebounds led by Mitchell's 11 also a double-double that day.

It was a well-played floor game because Gregory had only nine turnovers and Ipswich, eight miscues. And Hettich had two of his team's three steals.

Heinz and Xavier Kadlec each distributed three of Ipswich's 10 assists.
