I/B wrestlers get wins in Groton

The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestling team competed in the Groton Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 27.

The I/B team earned 66 points for 12th place. Groton won the event with 190 points.

I/B wrestler Justin Rohrbach won the 175 division, wrestling Chays Mansfield of Warner/Northwestern in the championship match. Kadyn Weisser placed second.

I/B wrestling results were:

144 — Gunnar Knittel: lost by fall 1:18, won by fall 2:00, won by forfeit, lost in sudden victory 12-10, scoring 6 team points

150 — Beau Schilling: received a bye, lost by fall 4:50, received a bye, won by fall 0:45, won by decision 7-4, lost by decision 10-5 for fourth place, scoring 12 team points

175 — Justin Rohrbach: won by fall 1:35, won by fall 1:49, won by decision 6-5, won by decision 7-3 for first place, scoring 26 team points

215 — Kadyn Weisser: won by decision 9-6, won by fall 1:34, won bu fall 4:47, lost by fall 5:23 for second place, scoring 22 team points

Ipswich/Bowdle grapplers are scheduled to wrestle in Faulkton on Feb. 1 in the Lake Region Conference meet and in Warner on Feb. 2.
