Cavaliers stop Tigers in Warner Classic

Playing without an injured Trevor Heinz at the Warner Classic Saturday, Feb. 17, the Ipswich boys basketball team still managed to put up a good fight in a 69-42 loss to Aberdeen Roncalli.

But the Tigers would trail at each quarter break, 18-9, 36-25 and 56-33, respectively.

Jace Konsor led their attack with his 15 points, despite a lot of attention from Roncalli defenders. He included one trey. Next would be Chet Peterson with 14 points that featured four treys.

Tucker Kadlec added seven points and the Tigers who also used three two point scorers. And they were Xavier Kadlec, Jaxon Holt and Rasmus Loken.

Roncalli countered with Keegan Stewart's 24 points followed by Maddox Miller with 17 points and Aiden Fisher also reached double figures with his 13 points. Four additional players would score. They were 26-47 in field goals with 11 treys and were 6-10 in free throws.

Ipswich went 16-41 in its floor shots with those five treys and went 5-10 in their free throw tries. The Tigers obtained 19 rebounds led by Tucker Kadlec with his five boards and Roncalli collected 28 rebounds. Roncalli only committed nine turnovers and Ipswich, 14.

The Ipswich boys will complete the regular season on Feb. 23 hosting Leola/ Frederick Area.
