IHS art students participate in Visual Arts Competition in Sioux Falls March 15-16

The South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) announces the 10th Annual State Visual Arts Competition and Gallery at the Ramkota in Sioux Falls March 15 and 16.

The event will bring together the artistic prowess of students from 36 schools across the state, featuring over 350 unique pieces that highlight the diverse and creative talents of South Dakota's young artists.

Ipswich art students participating include Cayden Geier, Evelyn Tran, Shaylee Coisman, Savannah Coisman, Marcus Hofer and Laila Middleton.

The Gallery Opening is Friday, March 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. The Gallery Exhibition is Saturday, March 16 from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This year's gallery promises to captivate art enthusiasts and the general public alike, providing a visually stunning display of the creativity and innovation present in South Dakota's high schools. The free and open-to-the-public gallery aims to celebrate the accomplishments of these budding artists and offers an opportunity for the community to engage with and appreciate their exceptional works.

As a special addition to this year's festivities, the first sanctioned State Art Wars competition will be held at the Ramkota on Saturday, March 16. This event will showcase the competitive spirit of South Dakota's young artists, allowing them to put their skills to the test in a friendly yet challenging environment.

Attendees can expect to witness a wide range of mediums, styles, and techniques as students unleash their imagination and showcase their artistic abilities.
