Funeral Service is Friday, April 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St., Sioux Falls. Interment will be held at Cresbard Cemetery on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11 a.m.

Betty was born May 30, 1930, to Albert and Lillian Stewart. She lived on a farm northwest of Norbeck. She had three brothers and one sister. Growing up in the depression taught Betty to be happy even in the small things. Betty was always trying to cheer someone up with a kind word or giving them help when they needed it. Her strong faith was her guiding light and she tried to share Jesus' love with those around her. Betty went to Nettleton Business College and Northern State College. She worked in Sioux Falls at a dairy supply company and taught school at the Reed School in Faulk County. On Dec 23, 1950, she married Myron Fillbach. They moved to Ipswich, where they raised their four daughters.

Betty was very active in the community. In later years, she ran the Meals on Wheels program and started a shuttle bus program to take the elderly to Aberdeen. Betty also worked for the Edmunds County Highway Department.

As Betty leaves this earth for her heavenly home, she leaves behind her daughters, Myra Hodson, Janet (Robert) Stahl, Diane (Greg) Breemes, and Jane (Ted) Hamze; her brother, Roger Stewart; her precious grandchildren who gave her so much joy, Kristin (Shane) Moliter, Ashley (Matt) Badenhorst, Amanda (John) Browder, Lindsey Breemes, Chris Hamze and Nick Hamze, Sarah (Nathan) Bobzien; many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; siblings, David Stewart, Gordan Stewart, and Vonnie Griffith; grandson, Paul Stahl; great-grandson, Alexzander Badenhorst; and son in-law, Dale Hodson.
