The Library is going through quite a few changes this summer, beginning with brand new permanent hours. We are actually getting a new sign installed next week that will outline the Marcus P. Beebe Memorial Library this summer.
There are many changes coming to the local library this summer. The Marcus P. Beebe Memorial Library will begin its new hours on June 1. The library will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon, closed an hour for lunch and then open from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. On Fridays, the library will be open from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday hours are also changing — the library will only be open from 9 a.m. until noon the third Saturday of every month.
The highly successful Summer Reading Program, led by Debra Gillick, will return this summer for six weeks. The program will meet from 3 p.m. until approximately 4:15 on Wednesdays. The time change from previous years will allow participants to remain for the entire program before leaving for a sports practice. The program will be for six weeks, excluding the week of July 4 - beginning on June 5 and ending July 17.
The MPB Memorial Library will be offering access to both indoor and outdoor games this summer. Some of the games available beginning in June are Lawn Darts, corn hole, GoSports Slammo, outdoor Connect Four and a summer racket game. Indoor games include Scrabble, Aggravation, Uno, Rummikub, and others. Librarian Cindy Percy is also hoping to start Bingo games and other possible rainy day activities. She is looking forward to the Coffee Klatch Ladies continuing to come in on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and the Tiger Post participants coming in every Tuesday for book check out and Story time.
