The Ipswich boys and girls earned gold at the State B Track and Field Meet last week, May 23-25 in Sioux Falls.
The IHS boys finished the meet in fourth place with 49 points and the girls were seventh with 31 points. Gregory won the boys division with 57 points. Burke won the girls division with 58 points. Deubrook Area won the combined team state championship.
The IHS boys earned four first place medals. Trevor Heinz won the Long Jump, with a 22-06.75 leap. Rasmus Loken also had a leap, in the pole vault. He won with a 12-09.00 vault.
The boys also earned two first place medals for relays. They won the 4x100 Relay at 44.07, run by Kyle Hettich, Maxwell Kulesa, Casey Geditz and Heinz. The IHS boys were the champions in the 4x200 Relay, with a 1:31.49 run. The runners were Geditz, Kulesa, Hettich and Heinz.
Jalyssa Hutson and Marley Guthmiller battled for the championship in the Pole Vault. Hutson was crowned the champ. Each attained the height of 10-08.00.

NORTH CENTRAL
The North Central girls team earned four points in the State A meet. Lindsey Geier placed fifth in the Triple Jump with a 34.09.25 leap.
