Individually, Mollie Simon finished the day shooting a 97 and placing eighth, which earned her spot at the state tournament on June 3 and 4 in Brookings.
The Ipswich boys' team also set a new record for lowest team round at a region tournament, bettering the previous record by two strokes. The previous record was held by Cody Peterson, Riley Gilbert, Tanner Moore from 2016 and Chet Peterson, Luke Peterson, and Jace Konsor from 2022. When all the scores were finally tabulated at the end of the tournament, the Ipswich boys' team finished as region champions, qualifying to compete at the state tournament. They finished ahead of Sully Buttes and Miller who tied for second. Tucker Kadlec shot an 82 for 11th place, Jace Konsor scored an 81 for ninth place, and Chet Peterson finished with 75 for third place. All three golfers qualified for state golf as individuals as well.
