The 2024 high school season came to a close on June 4 in Brookings, but not without some excitement to it.

Mollie Simon represented Ipswich on the girls' side carding a 103 on the first day. On the second day, she bounced back with a score of 97 finishing outside of the medalist placings. Mollie had a great season placing in the top ten standing in six tournaments, earning first place at the LRC golf meet and receiving MVP honors from the Ipswich golf team.

Ipswich was represented at the state tournament by Nate Bass, Tucker Kadlec, Jace Konsor, and Chet Peterson. After the first day of action, the Ipswich boys were sitting in 12th place just eight strokes behind 2nd place. Tucker and Jace started the early charge up the leaderboard on day two for the team. Tucker's putter caught on fire on the front nine holes with him one putting four greens in a row. He finished his first nine holes with a 39. After eighteen holes, Tucker finished with an 82, four shots better than day one. Jace teed off at 8:20 and had an up and down front nine. The back nine was a different story. Jace continued to hit one good shot after another and finished with a 41 on the back nine for a total of an 85, which was four shots better than the first day. Nate started his day at 10:00 battling each hole and gaining valuable experience with each shot. Nate finished with a 98, five shots better than the previous day. At 10:20, Chet sprang into action shooting a solid 38 on the front nine, which was three strokes better than the first day and moving him up the individual leaderboard. On the back nine, Chet really settled in, carding two birdies, six pars, and one bogey for a total of 35. He finished the day tied for 2nd overall, just two strokes from 1st . Once the dust had settled on day two, the team total was a 240, which was fourteen strokes better than day one. The result was a 4th place finish overall out of twenty-two teams. It was a phenomenal tournament by all golfers involved.

Thank you to all the parents and community members for your support during the golf season. We look forward to seeing all our future Tiger golfers on the golf course this summer.
