The 2024 Mina Lake Freedom Festival begins Wednesday, July 3.
Activities begin at 10 a.m. with activities for youth in the State Park, with free entrance.
Kids Fishing for Freedom is planned from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration begins at 9 a.m,. at the State Park dock. Kids can get free rods, tackle and bait.
The Kid’s Fun Zone is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the playground and beach. There is free lunch for kids. Activities include face painting, games, swimming and GF&P First Catch. There will be prizes galore.
The activities will move to The Wakeside that evening. Free Bingo for kids and adults will be played from 6 to 8 p.m. Look for lots of prizes.
The Lizzy Hofer Band will provide musical entertainment starting at 9 p.m.
Then celebrate the holiday with the Fireworks Extravaganza at 10 p.m.
The Bridge at Wakeside closes from 3 to 11 p.m. for fireworks set-up and show.
The holiday festivities continue July 5 and July 6.
Saturday, July 6 morning participate in the 5K Run, Two-Mile Fun Walk and Kid Run. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Wakeside parking lot. The schedule is: 8 a.m. 5K, 8:05 a.m. Two-Mile Walk, 9 a.m. Kid Run.
Live music is planned at The Crossing Friday and Saturday.
The Freedom Festival is sponsored by the Mina Lake Association.
