The memorial service for Curtis R. Kranzler, 67, of Aberdeen, was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Dan Cleberg officiating. Military honors were provided by Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post 24. Burial will be at South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD, at a later date.
Curtis died Friday, June 14, 2024, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.
Curtis Roland Kranzler was born April 11, 1957, to Clifford and Violet (Hirschkorn) Kranzler in Napa, Calif. He grew up and attended school in Napa. Curtis joined the U.S. Army in 1974 and served until receiving his honorable discharge on November 30, 1978. After his time in the service, he moved to South Dakota. Curtis drove Semi Truck for many years and for a time drove a concrete truck for GCC in Aberdeen. Curtis also attended Northern State.
Curtis was a member of DAV and often volunteered there. He loved hockey and followed the Wings. He also enjoyed attending races, fishing, and playing cards. Curtis loved going out to eat. Watching movies, especially Westerns, was a favorite pastime of his.
Grateful for having shared Curtis' life are his children, Clifford James, Samantha (Ryan) Pederson, and Michael (Mackenzie) Kranzler; grandchildren, Addy Kranzler and Camden Jack Kranzler; his siblings, Clifford Kranzler and Cal Kranzler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding Curtis in death are his parents, Clifford and Violet Kranzler.
