Achievement Days activities begin Sunday

“You Won’t Get Board in 4-H” is the slogan for the 2024 Edmunds County 4-H Achievement Days on August 4-6. Mark your calendars and plan on stopping by to see the accomplishment of our youth. Activities take place at the 4-H Grounds in Ipswich.

Sunday afternoon starts off the three days with the Cat Show starting at 2 p.m. at the 4-H Building. The Horse Fun Day at the Trail Complex starting at 4 p.m. will finish off the Day.

Monday kicks off with the Dog Show starting at 8 a.m. The dogs will be judged on obedience, agility, rally, and showmanship. The morning continues with the Rabbit Show, which starts at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Poultry Show.

The afternoon will start with the interview judging of all static exhibits. Cloverbud judging will also be in the afternoon. All animals need to be checked in by 2 p.m., which will be followed by the market animal weigh ins.

The Beef BBQ has been moved to Monday starting at 5 p.m. The evening program will follow the BBQ starting at 7 p.m. This program includes the Pet Show, crowning of the 2024 Cloverbud Princess & Prince, and 4-H Queen and King. The program will end with Project Runway and the announcement of the Best of Show Winners.

The Livestock Show is the main event for Tuesday. This will begin at 8 a.m. followed by the Pre 4-H Livestock Show. The three days will finish up with the Tuesday program starting at 3 p.m. This show includes the announcement of the Bottle/Bucket Calf winner, Family Herdsmanship Award, and Secret Alumni. It will conclude with the Livestock Premium Sale.

Concessions will be available all three days. They hope to see you there supporting the Edmunds County 4-H Program.
