Cowboys stop the Thunder in Eureka, next game at Bowdle

North Central faced a tough Lemmon/McIntosh Cowboy team in football action on Friday, Aug. 23 in Eureka. The Cowboys blanked the Thunder 52-0.

Cowboy Blair Ham scored four times, three times with 40 (or longer) yard runs.

Hams two runs plus a 84-yard pass from Nathan Penfield to Arlus Yelowizer, with the two-point conversion, left the first quarter at 20-0.

Brady Mollman started the second quarter scoring with a seven yard run. Ham then scored two more times in the second. One a one yard fumble return. The Cowboys went into halftime with a 40-0 lead.

Blake Drayton ran the show for the Cowboys in the third quarter, scoring twice. First a 22-yard pass from Penfield (two-point conversion was no good). The game ended with a 62-yard punt return (the extra-point kick was not good) with the final 52-0 score.

NC QB Kobe Wherry passed 7-11 for 36 yards. Harrison Beyers was 4-28 receiving yards. Jade Jacobs was the rushing leader with 41 yards. Harrison Beyers had six tackles.

The Thunder will host the Dupree Tigers on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Bowdle, when Bowdle will celebrate their Homecoming. The Homecoming parade is Friday at 11 a.m. in Bowdle.
