Tigers open FB season at home

The IHS Tigers began the 2024 football season with a 42-0 win over Timber Lake on Friday, Aug. 23 in Ipswich.

The Tigers got on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a seven yard TD run by QB Max Kulesa.

Kyle Hettich took over in the second quarter with two runs of 27 yards and five yards, respectively. Kulesa ran for the second conversion to put Ipswich ahead 20-0 at halftime.

Casey Geditz caught Kulesa's seven yard pass into the endzone in the third quarter. Jaxon Holt ran for the extra two points, to leave the score at 28-0.

In the final quarter Holt caught a 42-yard touchdown pass from Kulesa. Holt scored to add the two-point conversion. The Tigers final score was a four yard run by Hayden Schlosser.

Ipswich's rushing leaders were Hettich with 99 yards and Geditz, 87. The Tigers totalled 302 yards rushing, with 36 carries.

They were 8-12-0 for 98 yards for Kulesa. Receiving leaders were Holt 3-68, Hettich 2-37 and Geditz 1-10. Ipswich had 10 first downs.

The Panthers rushed for 56 yards on nine carries. They had four passing yards.

Leaving Ipswich in tackles were Rasmus Loken-9, Geditz-8 and Justin Rohrbach-7.

The Tigers play in Faulkton on Thursday evening, Aug. 29.
