Mary Bossert

Mary Lou Bossert, 81, of Aberdeen, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Prairie Heights Healthcare, Aberdeen.

There will be no formal services held.

Mary Lou Holzwarth was born to John and Magdalene (Ackerman) Holzwarth on July 24, 1943, in Mound City. She grew up and attended schools in Mound City.

Her parents owned a restaurant in Mound City, where she worked as a young woman and met her future husband, Donald "Don" Bossert, with whom she shared a birthday. They were "birthday sweethearts" and soon fell in love.

Mary and Don were united in marriage in Herreid, on December 20, 1959. They brought six beautiful children into the world: Dale, Ronda, Kevin, Melodie, Tim, and Corey. Mary and Don lived in Mobridge, until Don retired, and they moved to Ipswich, where they made their home for over 20 years.

Mary enjoyed being with her family, and that was very important quality time to her.

Mary is survived by her husband of 64 years, Don Bossert of Aberdeen; children: Dale Bossert of Sioux Falls, Ronda (Craig) Orrico of Bozeman, Mont., Kevin Bossert of Spearfish, and Tim Bossert of Redfield; grandchildren: Casey Stevens of Seattle, Wash., and Mackenzie (fiancé Lars Swenson) Stevens of Bellingham, Wash .; and sister, Kathy Hart of Shakopee, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Magdalene; children, Melodie and Corey; and brother, LeRoy Holzwarth.

Arrangements by Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen. http://www.schrivers memorial.com
