The NC Thunder volleyball team opened the season at Potter County in Gettysburg. The Battlers topped the Thunder 3-0 (14-25, 21-25, 22-25).
NC was 105 of 119 for hitting with 25 kills. Amree Vander Vorst led 52 of 56 with 11 kills.
North Central serving was 45 of 58 with four aces. Alaina Dosch was 12 of 15 with two aces.
Sydney Bertsch was 101 of 104 in setting with 20 assists.
The team had 75 digs, led by Dosch with 21 and Vander Vorst 14. Ella Batie had a block.
NC won the JV match.
Tuesday the Thunder played South Border in Ashley, N.D. They host Faulkton Area on Thursday in the EC School in Roscoe. They travel to McLaughlin on Sept. 9. NC hosts Mobridge-Pollock on Sept. 10 in Eureka.
