The Ipswich Tigers opened their volleyball season with a 3-1 (25-17, 25-7, 23-25, 26-16) win at Highmore-Harrold on Aug. 27.
The Tigers were 88-97 serving with 21 aces. Natalie Crissman led 14-15 with six aces and Josie Knutson was 16-18 with four aces.
Ipswich hitting was 128-150 with 72 kills. Marley Guthmiller was 31-35 with 13 kills and Kaylin Onken was 16-21 with five kills.
Reaghan Bowers was 53-57 with 39 assists in setting. Knutson was 48-50 with 32 assists. The IHS team was 128-137, with 72 assists.
Dig leaders were Brianna Geditz with 39 and Guthmiller, 19. Anna Nierman had two blocks and Jalyssa Hutson had one.
The Tigers played the Groton Tigers there on Tuesday. They meet Waubay/Summit in Waubay on Sept. 5. The IHS Tigers will play at home during homecoming week, hosting Sully Buttes on Sept. 10.
