Trojans stop Tigers in Faulkton

Faulkton Area Trojans doubled the score, 28-14, when they hosted Ipswich in LRC football action on August 29.

Ipswich’s TD’s came in the second half. Casey Geditz ran 27 yards to score in the third. Kyle Hettich ran three yards for the two-point conversion. Hettich ran 13 yards in the fourth quarter for the Tigers’ second TD.

The Trojans added to the scoreboard in the first three quarters. Their first six came in the first quarter. In the second quarter they had a seven-yard run, with a three-yard successful conversion. Then Faulkton had a 28-yard run to score. The half-time score was 20-0.

Faulkton added an insurance TD, a 46-yard run, plus the two-point conversion, making the score 28-0. Then the Tigers got to work.

Max Kulesa was the rushing leader, 13 for 109 yards. He passed 18-34 for 220 yards, with two interceptions. But the Tigers did recover two fumbles. Hettich was the passing receiving leader, 7 for 69. Holt was 4-60 and Geditz was 4-52.

The Tigers had nine first downs. The team had 25 carries for 124 yards.

Top IHS tacklers were Hettich with 14, Rasmus Loken 13 and Geditz 12.

The Trojans had seven first downs. They had 32 carries for 229 yards.

The Tigers travel to Warner on Friday, Sept. 6.
