Ipswich Homecoming this week, parade Friday

This is homecoming week for Ipswich. This year’s theme is Olympics.

Coronation was Monday evening. Chosen to reign as Queen and King were Jaydin Stiles and Maxwell Kulesa. 2023 King Chet Peterson was present to crown the new royalty. 2023 Queen Karlie Gohl could not be present. The other 2024 Royalty court members were Reaghan Bowers, Kathryn Kilber, Rylee Kleffman, Nicholas Fuhrmann, Tucker Kadlec and Sawyer Kirkham.

Skits were presented by the juniors, seniors and senior parents. The IHS band and cheerleaders also performed.

The Gala Day parade is Friday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. Contact Shana Gohl at the school by Thursday to sign up to have an entry. Call her, 605-426-6571 or email [email protected] .

The parade route will remain the same as the past. The parade entries line up on First Avenue by Holy Cross Church. The route will begin at First Avenue and Fifth Street, down Alma Avenue, turning on Main Street heading north, turning again on Fourth Avenue. Elementary students will leave the parade by the Parmley House. The remaining parade entries will leave the parade behind ActiveCare Chiropratic.

The IHS Tigers will take on the Northwestern Wildcats at 7 p.m. in the football game.

The Ipswich Post Prom committee will host a Tailgate supper beginning at 5 p.m. at the 4-H Building on Friday. The proceeds benefit the IHS Post Prom party.

The IHS volleyball team hosted a match against Sully Buttes on Tuesday. Ipswich will have a Cross Country meet at the IHS athletic complex.
