4-H Shooting Sports shooters compete at State Meet in Mitchell

The Edmunds County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sport program had a busy summer shooting to qualify for the state shoot. Shooters spent Wednesday nights at the Ipswich Shooting Range practicing their shotgun skills.

The state shoot was held in Mitchell on September 6-8. Several shooters from Edmunds County qualified for the state shoot. Those attending were Junior Eli Schilling and Seniors Gabriel Johnson, Adam Kanable, and Emerald Wittmeier.

Juniors and Seniors shot 100 rounds of trap. Junior Eli Schilling from Walworth County shot 61 for a blue ribbon and Seniors Gabriel Johnson shot a 91 for a purple ribbon, Adam Kanable shot a 92 for a purple ribbon, and Emerald Wittmeier shot a 65 for a red ribbon.

Adam also shot a round of 50 sporting clays. He hit 20 for a red ribbon.
