Cross Country action in Redfield, meet in Ipswich Saturday

Ipswich and North Central Cross Country teams competed in the Redfield Pheasants Cross Country Meet on Sept. 5 at Fisher Grove State Park.

The NC boys placed sixth in the Mens 5,000 Meters Varsity run. Avery Wells placed eighth at 17:41.91. Other NC runners were Drew Arbach-17th, Theo Haerter-30th.

Deuel won the mens divison with 30 points. Tayshaun Cudmore of Dupree won, 16:50.12.

James Valley Christian won the Womens 5,000 Meters Varsity race with 17 points. Ella Boekelheide of Nortwestern won at 18:14.90.

Madisyn Gellhaus placed sixth at 20:11.97. Gracyn Kadlec placed 10th at 20:26.47.

Neither Ipswich or North Central had girls teams qualifying for the varsity race.

The Ipswich team won the Mens 3,000 junior varsity race with 11 points. IHS boys in the race included Tyler Gellhaus, 11:11.82, second; Ethan Wald, 11:14.33, third; and Tye Pietz, 11:51.23, 13th.

North Central boys in the JV race were Aaron Ingerson, 11:17.34, fifth and Noah Ingerson, 11:24.45, seventh.

The North Central girls won the Women 3,000 meters junior varsity race with 15 points. Ipswich was second with 16 points.

Ipswich’s Jennay Gisi won the race at 11:40.33. Other IHS runners in the top 20 included: Aubrey Crissman 11th, Olivia Kadlec 13th, Isabella Henderson, 14th.

The North Central girls placed 6-7-8 in the JV race: Grace Roth-6th, Melanie Dallenbach-7th, Midaela Malsom-8th. Kassandra Abbas was 20th.

The North Central XC team will compete in the Potter County Invitational meet on Sept. 11. Ipswich will host a XC meet on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. at the IHS Athletic Complex. Ipswich will compete in Webster on Monday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
