Panthers stop Thunder in Timber Lake

The North Central football squad traveled to Timber Lake on Friday, Sept. 6. The Panthers were the winners 20-6.

Timber Lake scored twice in the first quarter. A 58-yard pass from Cole Ducheneaux added six points. A 45-yard pass to Nolden Gill from Kanton Hunt was the next score. Hunt ran for the two-point conversion.

The Thunder added six in the second quarter — a Jade Jadobs 64-yard run.

The third quarter was scoreless. Timber Lake added a nine-yard run. The two-point conversion failed.

Donovan Nelson was 4/12 passing for 31 yards. Jacobs was the rushing leader, 13 attempts for 119 yards. Kobe Wherry was 11-43 in rushing.

The Thunder team had 32 yards in the air and 129 rushing yards. They had eight first downs.

The Panthers had 73 plays for 375 yards — 274 passing and 101 rushing. They had 14 first downs.

Wherry was the tackle leader with 10. Harrison Beyers had five, followed by Jacobs, Tim Rucker and Mason Kunz with four each.

North Central hosts Leola/Frederick Area in Eureka on Sept. 13.
