NC football gets win against Northwestern

The North Central football got a 45-14 win over Northwestern on Sept. 20 in Mellette.

NC’s Tim Rucker scored twice in the first quarter. Both were passes from Kobe Wherry. The first was a 39 yard pass with a Tyler Bluhm kick good for the extra point. Then Rucker received a nine-yard pass to give NC a 13-0 first quarter edge.

Second Quarter: 13-6

NC - Jade Jacobs 12-yard run (Bluhm kick)

NW - Cole Caulder 60-yard run

NC - Jacobs two-yard run

Third Quarter: 13-8

NC - Kobe Wherry 13 yard run (Bluhm kick)

NC - Aiden Goings 14-yard pass from Wherry

NW - Four-yard run (two-point conversion)

Fourth Quarter: 6-0

Jacobs 38 yard pass from Jared Wherry

North Central had 56 plays for 428 yards — passing 193, rushing 235.

Kobe Wherry was 13/15 for 155-yards. Jared Wherry was 1/5 for 38-yards.

Rushing leaders were Jacobs, 119-yards and K. Wherry, 109-yards.

Rucker had four receptions, 63-yards. Jacobs had two, 55-yards/ Goings six, 54-yards.

The Thunder team will have their bye week on Sept. 27. They travel to Faulkton on Oct. 4.
