The North Central boys team captured another XC title winning the Lakeside Invitational Cross Country Meet in Faulkton on Sept. 25.
Gabe Johnson was second in the Men’s 5,000 Meters Varsity Boys division at 18:23.44. Avery Wells was fifth and Drew Arbach was tenth. Aaron Ingerson was also in the top 20 at 15th place.
There were 54 in the men’s division. Pierce Baumberger of Miller was first at 17:59:10.
Potter County won the Women’s 5,000 Meters Varsity meet with 13 points. The North Central girls were seventh.
Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern won the girls varsity division. Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus was sixth. Local runners in the top 20 included Grace Roth, 19th.
There were 43 runners in the women’s 5,000 Meters Varsity race.
Ipswich won the Women’s 4,000 Meter Junior Varsity division with six points. The Tigers had five runners in the top seven places. Jennay Gisi was first, followed by Isabella Henderson second, Olivia Kadlec fifth, Aubrey Crissman sixth and Braelyn Holt, seventh.
Thunder runner Mikaela Malsom was third.
The Ipswich boys also won the 4,000 Meters Junior Varsity division with six points. IHS runners in the top ten were Ethan Wald third, Tyler Gellhaus fourth and Tye Pietz eighth.
Thunder runner Jason Arbach was second in the junior varsity boys division.
Ipswich and North Central were scheduled to run in the Miller Invitational on Monday, Sept. 30. NC will run in the Action Club Invitational on Oct. 5 in Highmore.
Each team will compete in their conference meets on Oct. 9. Ipswich in the LRC meet in Ipswich and NC at the YTC meet in Gettysburg.
