Tigers stop Wolverines in football action Friday

The Ipswich football team got a win on Friday against Herreid-Selby Area in Selby. The Tigers were on top in the high scoring event, 58-32.

The scoring began in the first quarter. H-SA was first on the scoreboard with a Jared Weisbeck four-yd. run, with no conversion.

Then the Tigers went to work. Kyle Hettich had a 79-yard break-away run with a Max Kulesa conversion carry. Then Kulesa had a two-yard run with a Hettich run conversion.

Second quarter: 22-0

I – Shay Knust 12 pass from Kulesa.

I – Casey Geditz 43 run.

Third quarter: 6-6

HSA – Kaleb Claymore 80 kickoff return.

I – Hettich 10 run.

Fourth quarter: 14-20

I – Kulesa 63 run (Geditz run).

I – Kingston Sylte 4 pass from Hayden Schlosser.

HSA – Houston Hauge 2 run.

HSA – Porter Gregg 54 run (Thatcher Kihne run)

HSA –Addonis Mills 60 run.

Ipswich was 25-380 in rushing — Geditz 13-181, Hettich 6-101, and Kulesa 3-78.

Kulesa and Hayden Schlosser combined for 100 yards passing.

Herreid-Selby Area was 29-245 rushing and 8-17 162 yards passing.

Ipswich was led by Geditz, 10 tackles, Stetson Weigel, 9 tackles and Brody Davis, 8 tackles.

Ipswich plays Hitchcock-Tulare on Oct. 4 in Tulare.
