North Central boys YTC cross country champs

The North Central Cross Country boys were the champions of the YTC and CSDC meet in Gettysburg Oct. 9.

The NC boys topped the teams in the Mens 5,000 Meters Varsity division with 15 points. Miller was second with 20 points, followed by Highmore-Harrold with 23.

Pierce Baumgerger of Miller won the mens division at 16:31.68. He was followed by Wamni Kills Crow at 16:42.38.

NC had four boys in the top 10 of the varsity division. Gabe Johnson was fifth at 17:45.23. He was followed by Drew Arbach sixth, Avery Wells seventh, and Aaron Ingerson ninth. Theo Haerter was 16th and Noah Ingerson was 21st.

Potter County won the Womens 5,000 Meters Varsity race with 15 points, followed by Miller with 24 points. The North Central girls were fourth with 37 points.

Madeline Nye of Miller won the girls division, followed by Dannika Kaup of Potter County.

Thunder girls in the top 20 were Melanie Dallenbach ninth, Grace Roth 14th and Mikaela Malsom 17th.

The North Central Cross Country runners will compete in the Region 4B meet today, Oct. 16 in Gettysburg at 1 p.m. The runners who qualify for the State B race run on Oct. 26 in Rapid City.
