Ten Ipswich Middle School students participated in the annual Northwestern Middle School Music Festival, held at Northwestern High School on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
The Festival included a concert band of 95 middle school musicians and a mixed chorus of 120 singers. The band and choir members represented 15 area schools.
The festival choir rehearsed and performed under the direction of Mary Marion, retired Holgate MS choir director. The band rehearsed and performed under the direction of Toby Rath, retired Rapid City Stevens director of bands and former Groton Band Director.
The day long rehearsal concluded with an evening performance of each group's repertoire and a combined piece of "God Bless America".
