The North Central boys cross country were the Region 4B Mens 5,000 Meters Varsity champions. The meet was held in Gettysburg on Oct. 16.
Thunder runner Gabe Johnson led the team's effort, placing second at 16:53.52. Four NC runners followed him, all placing in the top-20. Avery Wells was fifth, Drew Arbach sixth, Aaron Ingerson eighth and Theo Haerter 13.
Team was first with 10 points. Highmore-Harrold was second with 24 points, followed by Herreid/ Selby Area.
Wamni Kills Crow of McLaughlin won the mens division at 16:49.53.
The Thunder girls team placed third in the Womens 5,000 Meters Varsity race with 29 points. Potter County won the race with 13 points.
Dannika Kaup of Potter County won the race at 19:31.96.
Melanie Dallenbach led the Thunder girls team, placing seventh. She was followed by Grace Roth 11th, Mikaela Malsom 14th, Kassandra Abbas 19th and Lily Roth 21st.
