The North Central cross country team competed at the Class B State Cross Country meet on Oct. 26, 2024 at Hart Ranch Camping Resort at Rapid City.
North Central boys team placed third in the Mens 5,000 Meters Varsity race with 48 points.
Philip won the boys division with 12 points, followed by Mitchell Christian.
NC runner Drew Arbach placed 14th at 17:49.05. Gabe Johnson finished a few seconds later, 17th place at 17:51.18.
The first runner of the 120 competitors was Finley McConniel of Freeman Academy/Marion at 16:45.97.
Other North Central boys in the event were Avery Wells 28th, Aaron Ingerson 49th, and Theo Haerter 95th.
The North Central girls team placed 11th with 123 points.
The Kimball/White Lake girls team was first and Ipswich was second.
Grace Roth was the first NC runner through the finish gate at 49th. Other NC girls results were Mikaela Malsom 59th, Melanie Dallenbach 63rd, Lily Roth 97th and Kassandra Abbas 98th.
There were 112 girls running in the B division race.
