Ipswich played Sully Buttes in the quarterfinals of the Region 6B volleyball tournament on Nov. 5 in Ipswich.
The Tigers won 3-1 25-12. 21-25, 25-18, 25-12.
IHS had 39 kills. led by Marley Guthmiller with 18, Kaylin Onken six and Josie Knutson five.
The Tigers had 10 aces and 27 assists.
IHS had 58 digs led by Brianna Geditz 26 and Guthmiller 25.
The Tigers then battled Faulkton Area on Thursday, Nov. 7 in Ipswich for a trip to the SoDak 16. After a series of close matches Faulkton won the game 3-1. Ipswich won the first match 27-25. Then Faulkton took the next two matches 25-23 and 25-15. The next match had the two teams in a series of ties. Faulkton finally got the win 33-31.
Ipswich had 43 kills, led by Guthmiller with 21 and Onken with 13.
The Tigers had 34 assists. Knutson had 20 and Reaghan Bowers had 13.
Geditz had 23 digs and Guthmiller had 19. The team had 74 digs.
The Tigers ended their season with a 21-9 record.
Region 6B SoDak 16 qualifiers faced tough competition on Nov. 12 - Faulkton Area vs. Warner in Redfield and Herreid-Selby Area vs. Hitchcock-Tulare at the Northwestern School.
The State B volleyball tournament is Nov. 21-23 in Sioux Falls.
