The Edmunds County 4-H Recognition Event was held Monday, November 18 at the 4-H Building in Ipswich.
The evening started with a potluck supper followed by the awards ceremony. The 4-H members, leaders, and friends of 4-H were honored for their accomplishments and contributions. Bonnie Nehlich, 4-H Educator, welcomed all to the event and introduced the emcees for the night, Junior Leader President Charli Rawden and Secretary Nevaeh Moser.
4-H graduation awards were presented to Brady Beitelspacher, Hannah Beyers, Grant Fischer, Nicholas Fuhrmann, Gabriela Grabowska-Hoyle, Billie Jo Hoffman, Xavier Kadlec, Mackenzie Kaiser, Adam Kanable, Quincy Olivier, and Kadyn Weisser.
Senior Scholarships were presented to Hannah Beyers and Grant Fischer.
The Meritorious Award was presented to Janet Fuhrmann for her 22 years of service to the Edmunds County 4-H Program.
The Alumni Award was given to Myra Toennies for her help with the dog program and judging at Achievement Days.
Leaders receiving special recognition for years of service as club leaders and a member of the Leaders Association were Scott Kilber – 15 years, Jean Hutson – 10 years, and Amanda Rawden – 10 years. They each received a certificate and a clover pin.
Other leaders recognized for their years of service were Becki Bass – 4 years, Carole Curtis – 22 years, Courtney Davis – 8 years, Holly Fischer – 2 years, Lacey Galbraith – 6 years, Jordan and Amanda Holt – 6 years, Danielle Hoyle – 2 years, Janet Fuhrmann – 16 years, John and Steph Jung – 14 years, Sarah Perrion – 3 years, Jeremy Rawden – 6 years, Bryan and Jessica Scherr – 7 years, and Jill Wittmeier – 3 years.
The Overall Dog Showman was Emerald Wittmeier, and the Basic A Showman was Jacob Volk.
Quincy Olivier was recognized for her participation in the State Finals Rodeo in Goat Tying and received the Overall Horse Award.
The Visual Arts Dabbler Awards went to Junior Dora Bonen and Senior Kaidence Bulgin.
The County Rate of Gain was won by Wyatt Holmes for sheep and beef, and Jacob Jung for swine.
Project medals were presented to Hannah Beyers, Grant Fischer, and Jillian Fischer.
Eighteen members were recognized for completing record books. They all received purple or blue ribbons.
Maggie Holt, Jacob Jung, Kathryn Kilber, and Charli Rawden were recognized for receiving Purple Ribbons in Showmanship at the State Fair.
Jillian Fischer, Maggie Holt, and Charli Rawden were recognized for having Grand Champion Animals at the State Fair.
State Fair cash awards were presented to Jillian Fischer, Maggie Holt, and Jacob Jung.
Best of Show Award was given to Holly Fischer, Open Class winner.
