Two champs at Ipswich/Bowdle first meet

Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed at the Stanley County Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 7 in Ft. Pierre.

Justin Rohrbach won the championship in the 190 division. Sophia Knittel also was first in the girls 132 division.

The I/B boys team placed eighth, tied with Timber Lake, with 24 points.

Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall won the boys division with 207.5 points.

I/B results were:

106 — Edison Unser: lost by fall to Stoeser (Stanley Co.) (1:28); received a bye; lost by fall to Knight-Stanley Co. (1:50)

120 — Weston Weisser: lost by fall to Weber-P/KA/W (0:43); lost by fall to Risse-Bennett Co. (1:07); lost by fall to Hutchinson-P/KA/W (1:30) scoring 4.0 points, 4th place

190 — Justin Rohrbach: won by fall over Sorenson-Lyman (1:17); won by fall over Kinsley-Lyman (2:45); won by fall over Red Bird-McLaughlin (0:54), scoring 20 points, 1st place

Girls Division:

132 — Sophia Knittel: won by fall over Barnes-Lemmon (1:00); won by fall over Barnes-Lemmon (0:42), scoring 6 points, 1st place

The I/B wrestlers travel to Faulkton for an invitational on Feb. 14.
