Celebating Christmas locally

Local churches will celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve worldwide.

Area church holiday services include:

First Baptist of Ipswich

A Christmas Breakfast is planned on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 9 a.m.

Holy Cross and St. Thomas Catholic Churches

Ipswich and Roscoe

The Christmas Eve Mass on Dec. 24 begins at 7 p.m. in St. Thomas Church in Roscoe. The Christmas Day Mass begins at 9 a.m. at Holy Cross in Ipswich.

Ipswich United Church of Christ

The Christmas Eve candlelight service begins at 5:30 p.m.

Richland Church

The Christmas Eve service begins at 6 p.m. The one-hour service will feature carols, candles and special music.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

Hosmer

The Christmas Eve with Candlelight Service with communion begins at 5 p.m.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church

Roscoe

The Christmas Eve worship begins at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. The Christmas Day, Dec. 25 service begins at 8:30 a.m. The church will have a worship service on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m.

Zion Lutheran

Ipswich

The congregation meets on Sundays at 1:30 p.m.
