Bearcats stop Tigers at homecourt action

Ipswich hosted the Webster Bearcats in a doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 21.

The IHS girls got the lead after the first quarter, 15-12. Then the Bearcats outscored the Tigers - 25-21, 39-36, 52-47.

Gabby Wald led the IHS scorers with 20 points. She had four three-pointers. Other scorers were Marley Guthmiller-ten, Brianna Geditz-eight, Kaylin Onken-four, Tristan Geditz and Anna Nierman-two each, and Jalyssa Hutson-one.

Bearcat Erin Sannes led scorers for Webster with 22 points, Mallory Steiner had 12.

The Webster boys led throughout the game - 20-13, 32-27, 48-35 and 62-53. The score was tied once and the lead changed three times.

Tucker Kadlec led the Tiger scoring with 20 points, followed by Max Kulesa with 18. Other Tigers scorers were Kyle Hettich-four, Jaxon Holt and Hayden Schlosser with three, Rasmus Loken and Tate Hogie with two each, and Shay Knust-one. Kadlec, Holt and Schlosser each had three-point baskets.

Matthew Mount led all scorers with 35 points (four three-pointers). Ian Lesner had 13 and Seth Lesner had 11 points.

Kadlec had a double/double with 10 rebounds. Ipswich had 34 rebounds, Webster 36.

The Ipswich boys will play Wilmot on the road on Jan. 3. The boys and girls will play a doubleheader in Timber Lake on Jan. 4.
