Larry Williams

Larry Allen Williams, 77, of Paris Crossing, Indiana, passed away on December 14, 2024, at Meadow View Health and Rehabilitation in Salem, Indiana.

Born on March 22, 1947, in Ipswich, Larry was the beloved son of Glenn C. and Marjorie (Streit) Williams, both of whom preceded him in death.

Larry grew up on the Williams family farm south of Ipswich, where he helped his Dad with milking cows and planting and harvesting crops to provide for the family. Those early years instilled in him a strong work ethic and a love for the land.

He graduated from Ipswich High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring after a distinguished career. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and later retired from the United States Postal Service in Denver, Colorado.

On September 2, 2019, Larry married Gayle (Royalty) Williams in Jennings County, Indiana. Together, they shared a life filled with love and treasured memories.

Larry had a lifelong love for Farmall tractors, target shooting, and prairie dog hunting. He cherished time spent fishing, traveling to Colorado, and caring for his Rottweiler dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Williams of Paris Crossing, Ind .; his stepchildren, Todd (Jennifer Hudson) Peden of Louisville, Kentucky, Linda (Rob) Nicosia of Crothersville, Ind., and Missy Engle of Paris Crossing, Ind .; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his siblings, Debbie Williams of Olathe, Kan., Paula (Todd) Oldenburg of Oak Harbor, Wash., Kristi (Wayne) Graul of Paola, Kan .; and David (Marcee) Williams of Palm Springs, Calif .; along with many nieces and nephews.

Larry will be remembered for his warm heart, sense of humor, and passion for the simple joys in life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
