Thunder doubleheaders

in Faulkton

North Central traveled to Faulkton for a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 11.

The NC boys won the game 62-56. The Thunder boys had a 28-23 lead at halftime.

Kobe Wherry led all scorers with 18 points. Donovan Nelson was close behind with 16 points. Wherry had three three-pointers and Nelson had two. Other scorers were Zane Haar 12 points, Tim Rucker 8, Cole Beitelspacher 6, and Jade Jacobs two.

The Thunder boys had 30 rebounds.

The Faulkton girls won the game, 53-38.

Thunder’s Amree Vander Vorst led their scoring with 17 points, with five three-pointers. Ella Batie had nine points and 15 rebounds. Other scorers were Alaina Dosch and Lindsey Geier with five points each and Carleigh Dosch two.

Carly Cotten led scoring for the Trojans with 18 points.

The Thunders will continue playing girls/boys doubleheaders. They played Leola/Frederick Area on Tuesday in Leola. Then they will play in Ipswich on Jan. 21. The boys will host Potter County in Bowdle on Jan. 17.

in Warner

The Thunder girls and boys met the Warner Monarchs in doubleheader action in Warner on Jan. 10, 2025.

The NC girls were stopped by Warner 32-24. North Central was up 13-12 at halftime.

Amree Vander Vorst led all scorers with 15 points. Other NC scorers were Carleigh Dosch with four, Ella Batie three and Lindsey Geier two.

Vander Vorst and Batie had 9 rebounds each. The team had 29 rebounds. Warner had 27.

Stacia Carda led the Monarchs with 12 points.

The Warner boys got the win 52-23. The North Central boys got a slow start, 30-8 after the first quarter.

Cole Beitelspacher had six points (two three-pointers). Tim Rucker also had six. Other scorers were Zane Haar four, Aiden Goings three, Trent Beyers and Donovan Nelson two each

The Monarchs were led by Alec Mikkelson with 12 points.

North Central had 21 rebounds (Nelson had six). Warner had 35.

The Thunder had a series of doublheaders. They traveled to Faulkton on Jan. 11, then they played Leola/Frederick Area on Jan. 14. They have another doubleheader in Ipswich on Jan. 21.
