The Ipswich girls basketball began last week with a trip to Ellendale, N.D. The Tigers got a 57-35 win on Jan. 6.
The IHS girls were up 38-15 at the half.
Gabby Wald led the Tigers with 19 points (five three-pointers). Tristan Geditz scored 11 points. Other Tigers scoring were Brianna Geditz and Marley Guthmiller, eight each; Anna Nierman five, Kaylin Onken four, and Jalyssa Hutson two.
Ipswich had 36 rebounds – Geditz seven and Guthmiller six.
Three Cardinals scored eight each — Ariel Hagen, Hannah Lematta and Kinsey Middlestad. They had 31 rebounds.
The next day, Jan. 7, the IHS boys traveled to Northwestern. The Tigers got a 52-45 win.
The Tiger boys were down by one, 19-20 at the half.
Tucker Kadlec led with a double/double – 15 points and 10 rebounds. Hayden Schlosser also had 15 points (five three-pointers). Also scoring were Shay Knust with nine, Max Kulesa eight, Kyle Hettich three, and Jaxon Holt two.
Jack Hansen led the Wildcats with 22 points, including two three-pointers.
Northwestern had 33 rebounds while the Tigers pulled down 29.
