The 2024 Ipswich Betterment Awatd was presented to Marv Seyer during the Ipswich boys basketball game on Jan. 24, 2025.
The nomination letter said "Marv began his career in Ipswich in 1964. He was a teacher and coach for 30 years at Ipswich Public School, retiring in 1995. Throughout his career he helped countless kids in the classroom and in athletics." He was instrumental in teaching the basic fundamentals in various sports.
He has written five books about Ipswich's sports history. He has also recorded and submitted daily weather for the past 50 years.
