Adina C. Rohrbach, 78, Eureka, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Lien-Straub-Carlsen Chapel, Eureka, led by Pastor LuCinda Haak. Burial will be at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
Adina Carolina Weisz, daughter of Mathilda (Kallenberger) and Richard Weisz, was born December 3, 1946 at Hosmer. She was brought up near Hillview, attended country school, and eventually earned her GED. Adina married Raymond Rohrbach at Hosmer on March 7, 1965. They first settled on the Rohrbach farm 10 miles northwest of Eureka in McPherson County. In 1966, the couple moved into Eureka where Adina lived the rest of her life.
She was employed at the Eureka Lutheran Home (currently the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center for 40 years. She retired as the supervisor in the Dietary Department. She then helped at her husband's business, Ray's Lawn Service. Adina was brought up in St. John's Lutheran Church in Hosmer and belonged to the Eureka VFW Auxiliary. Adina and Ray spent countless hours over the years fishing together. She also cherished time spent with her grandson, Hudson.
Adina is survived by Raymond, her husband of 59 years; one son, Alvin (Barbara) Rohrbach of Pierre; two brothers, Alvin (Kathy) Weisz of Bismarck, N.D. and Merle (Linda) Weisz of Aberdeen; one sister, Lorena (Ronnie) Knoepfle of Artas; one grandson, Hudson Rohrbach; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, on July 24, 2009; her mother, Mathilda, on October 6, 2010; two brothers, Philip and Randy; and two nephews, Ronnie Knoepfle, Jr. and Grant Weisz.
Casketbearers were Robert Loebs of Aberdeen; Gary Lyons and Ricky Loebs, Sr. of Sioux Falls; Jay Wolf and Jake Wolf of Zeeland, N.D .; and Greg Schumacher of Eureka.
