The Tigers and Thunder teams met for their second doubleheader on Jan. 21. Each team got a win. The North Cental girls won 50-42. The IHS boys got the win 46-27.
The NC girls were led by Amree Vander Vorst with 17 points, followed by Ella Batie and Alaina Dosch with 10 each. Tylee Vander Vorst had eight and Lindsey Geier with five.
The Tiger girls had eight scorers led by Jalyssa Hutson with 13 and Marley Guthmiller 10. Other scorers were Tristan Geditz five, Kaylin Onken four, Brianna Geditz and Gabby Wald three each, Anna Nierman and Aubree DeRaad two each.
The Tigers got a slow start, 5-13 after the first quarter. The half time score was 25-22, with the Thunder girls up. The score was tied three times and the lead changed two times.
The boys also got slow starts – The Tigers were up 5-4 at the end of the first quarter. At half time the score was 20-16 with, the Tigers maintaining their lead,
Max Kulesa led the Tigers with 11 points. He was followed by Jaxon Holt with nine, Tucker Kadlec and Hayden Schlosser seven each, Rasmus Loken five, Lane Braun three, Brody Davis two.
The Thunder boys were led by Cole Beitelspacher with seven, Kobe Wherry and Tim Rucker five each, Jade Jacobs four, Donovan Nelson and Zane Haar three each.
IHS had 30 rebounds and NC had 29.
